KIM WILSON DESIGNS

EST. 2000

Based out of Fox Point, WI, Kim Wilson Designs has been creating unique jewelry - lovingly referred to as “small sculptures” - for over 20 years. Originally a florist, her appreciation for nature shines through in designs that seamlessly blend the organic with the industrial; simple, yet complex. Whether working with a fossilized mammoth bone, opals or slate, Kim handcrafts pieces that let the materials speak for themselves, resulting in a stunning, inimitable work of art.

Process

Kim’s process is just as extraordinary as her jewelry. She doesn’t start with a sketch, but with the stone: What shape is it? How does the light hit it? What kind of jewelry does it lend itself to best? Is it a “bracelet day” or an “earring day”? She works endlessly to ensure the main attraction is framed in a way that shows off its best qualities, improvising as the piece reveals itself to her.

About kim

Kim grew up in a rural part of Cedarburg, WI. Among other things, she loved gardening with her mom and grandmother - a love which inspired her professional career as a florist and carried on through the creation of Kim Wilson Designs. Always into art (making paper, stained glass, ceramics), she took jewelry making up as a hobby in 2000, and the rest is history!

These days, Kim loves spending time with her friends and family, which includes her adorable granddaughters and Cardigan Welsh Corgi, Scout. She is also enrolled in Botanical Illustration classes.
